Things to visit in Italy

As many of you know, Lenny and I are planning an epic tour of Italy from about May 12-June 3. We're hoping to book our flights as soon as Lenny's ISIC card comes in which should be sometime in the next few days. Here's a breakdown of places we'd like to go and things we'd like to do and see. I'd love your feedback!

Rome/Roma (West coast)
  • The Pantheon
  • The Colloseum
  • Via Appia and the Aurelian Wall
  • Santa Maria in Trastevere, a church built in 350AD
The Vatican/Il Vaticano (West coast)
  • St. Peter's Basilica (Basilica di San Pietro)
  • Vatican museums
  • The Sistine Chapel (Cappella Sistina)
Naples/Napoli (South West)
  • Eat some pizza in the place of pizza!
The Amalfi Coast (West)
  • If this name doesn't ring a bell, you should google it and check out some pictures. Beautiful. Just stunning. First fell in love with it from an episode of House Hunters International. Not gonna lie.

Sicily (South West)
Bari (East Coast)

Pescara (East Coast)
  • Visit Lenny's mother's mother's family.
Florence/Firenze (West coast-ish)
  • The Statue of David
  • The Institue and Museum of the History of Science (Museo Galileo)-- the major holder of Galileo Galilei items
  • Chianti vineyards
Vinci
  • The Leonardo da Vinci museum

Pisa (West coast)
  • Leaning Tower of Pisa, duh!
Milan/Milano (North)
  • Opera at Teatro della Scala -- the word's best known opera house
  • The Last Supper at Santa Marie delle Grazie
Bergamo (North)
  • Visiting Lenny's father's siblings and parents
  • Sailing?
Asiago (North)
  • Cheese tasting at "cheese farms". Nom Nom Nom

Venice/Venezia (North East)
  • Gondola ride
  • Stroll saround the Dorsoduro and San Polo districts
  • St. Mark's Square
  • Da Vinci's drawing of the Vitruvian Man at the Galleria dell'Accademia


Much coffee and gelato will also be had :)
