Woot! Woke up this morning without a headache. Sooooo exciting!
Last night's economics exam went fairly well. I was able to finish the 50 multiple choice in an hour so that's a good sign I suppose. There were four or five questions that I'm still thinking about today not knowing how remotely to even solve them. Ah well, I'm proud of myself for putting in the effort that I did for such a drab topic (to me anyways).
Next up is the music exam tonight and then I'm free. I'm really trying not to worry about the kajillion things I need to do for the month of August but I'm not doing a very good job of it. For starters I have to figure out why Direct Energy thinks I owe them $1170. There's not a whole lot more to say about that other than that is a lot of money to apparently owe someone out of the blue... I also need to do quite a few more of the pesky change-of-address thingers; why don't all companies have this online yet?! I also need to get an eye doctors appointment & new glasses, or at least lenses. Fun times here with Heather.
Anyhoo, I'm going to go gulp down some Gatorade in attempts to stem off my inevitable exertion headaches and get down to studying for my final exam of the summer.

Holy smokes Batman
I've been fighting off a head ache now for over 24 hours. I don't know if it's the weather (quite humid here), the stress (I'm writing 4 exams over the course of 5 days), or mild withdrawl (I was on some heavy duty drugs thanks to having a dry socket). Ugh. Not so cool.
Cool is that I'm almost finished these four exams. I did Part I of the music exam on Saturday morning and it went really well. Turns out it was only 20 questions long so I think I aced it. Monday night I wrote Managerial Accounting and it too went really well. I've done so well in this class it's almost funny. Like mid to high-80s. In accounting. Anyhoo, tonight I'm writing Economics so my ego should come back into check, but who knows. Tomorrow night holds Part II of the music exam which I'm not anticipating to do particularly well on due to the amount of studying done for other exams recently and the sheer unfairness this professor has made nearly all tests this year. In any case I've completed an entire semester of school in three months. Not too shabby.
Since my birthday is August 3rd, I'm going to be heading up to Toronto to celebrate with Lenny. I'm VERY excited to get to spend more than a few hours with him (holiday weekend!!) AND not to have anything to study while I'm there. Unfortunately I will likely have to do a bit of work for the faculty as we're launching a big project on the 4th and only now are people getting back to me with answers to questions I asked over a month ago. I honestly would like to do some smacking of heads. It would be a super awesome birthday present, but then where would I be for the next year...
Anyhoo, back to fighting this head ache. I'm going to try having a bit of a lay down I guess. Part of it's definitely got to be stress now that I haven't done any studying in the last three hours bc I've been trying to ignore the pain... Arg. Ah well.

Yesterday/Today/Tomorrow
Today I completed a 15-page paper, wrote a 3.5hr accounting exam, went to a 3hr economics class, and visited with my mom who is here because... tomorrow I am getting my wisdom teeth out. Bleh. How's that for excitement?

Good day sir!
Sleeeepy Heather. I got a lot of studying done today compared to other days but just can't seem to pull together the brain power to read and learn the last few pages of what I had earmarked to study. Oh well. There's always tomorrow.
Tomorrow I plan on picking up a July bus pass. This will be most exciting as it means I will not have to pay per ride as I am now (although I use tickets which are slightly less than full fare). For a mere $80 or something like that I can ride the bus as many times as I want this month. This will be particularly helpful as I pick up more hours at the Faculty and the store as well as making it back and forth to classes and a cheaper grocery store. It might seem small to those of you that have a vehicle, but I'm excited for the little extra bit of freedom that this will afford while removing the guilt that comes with spending money every time I take the bus... Now taking the bus will be a good thing because I'll be making use of the money I paid upfront.
My apartment is almost in tip top shape. I got the last of things up on the walls that I wanted to put up and am pleased to say that the only thing I have still to find a home for are my stuffed animals. It's been a long time coming but this place is starting to feel like home. It'd be nice if there was someone to share it with but at least I'm enjoying it.
Today is Canada Day. I'm proud to be a Canadian. The more I learn about other countries whether from an economic perspective, from immigrants, from the stories of old, the more I am thankful that I live here. It is rare for me to recall just how lucky I am, but I am truly blessed, starting with the random chance that I was born into a family here in one of the greatest places in the world to live. Thank you to all people that have made this country a great place to be: past and present. Choosing the "nice" road isn't always the easiest but it certainly seems to have paid off in the long run. Here's for hoping the next 100 years are as blessed as the last.
