Favourite Photos of Vinci

Our day in Vinci definitely earned me some sort of Amazing Girlfriend Award. It was a very hot day (35 degrees or something like that) and it took a 1 1/2 hour combination of walking buses and trains to get there. Here are some of my favourite pictures of our trip (again you can click on them to enlarge them).

A beautiful building near the museum devoted to Leonardo Da Vinci.
Over the entirety of our trip to Italy, I kept wondering how on Earth the builders got the heavy marble up to where it needed to be in so many of the buildings. Turns out the cranes of yesteryear are quite similar to the ones we use today.

There was a fair amount of modern art outside of the museum and this was one of the installations that I thought was pretty cool.

A life-sized replica of Da Vinci's flying machine graced one of the ceilings.

Da Vinci's idea for a tank.

The beautiful countryside Da Vinci grew up with.

His idea for a diving suit.

Waiting for a Very infrequent bus (that came once every two hours) in the teeniest bit of shade we could find.
When we got back to Florence that night, we did some laundry and found this sign. While the Italian is perfect, the English leaves one scratching their head. Wowsers.

Well that's it for my favourites in Vinci. I'm sure if Lenny did this post there'd be a lot more gadgety pictures, but you'll have to ask him to get on that yourselves ;)
