Despite the Donezzetti museum and the national museum being closed, we still had a fantastic time visiting the big city nearest Lenny's family's home. Bergamo is a city split into to two parts, the high (Alta) and low (Bassa), because it's built on a giant hill. We got to take a tram up to the Alta and walked back down to the Bassa in the afternoon. Here are some of my favourite pics from Bergamo.

This was a solar clock to track seasons and time found outside the cathedral. Ask Lenny for more details, but in plain English, it's a very very old scientific clock.
Every area has a local pastry and this is a giant version of the one in Bergamo. It's a cross between a jujube and a lemon meringue pie.
There were a Lot of tanks outside in one of the parks. It was really neat to see so many varieties.
An old monestary that is now part of the university. It's undergoing major renovations right now which is why it looks a little dumpy.
A different take on pizza crust -- bruscetta!
Approaching one of the tunnels that they blast into the mountains for easier transport. Some of these are over 3 kilometres long!
