Favourite Photos of Sicily

Sicily was really unseasonably rainy while we were there so we didn't get to do any hiking or sitting on the beach. Alas, the stuff we did see and taste was pretty awesome. Here are some of my favourite pics.

Mt. Etna explodes a lot so there is a lot of interesting stuff to see. This poor house got buried in one of the last eruptions.

It may have been 5 degrees celcius, but we still saw the most recent gigantic craters, the Silvestri.

It's blurry, but you still get the idea -- there are a lot of caves caused by the lava tubes that you can walk into and explore.

We had lunch at a winery named Gambino near Mt. Etna. The wine and food was Delicious!

An old Roman Theatre discovered in Catania. There had been so much rain in the previous days that they hadn't had a chance to fully de-swamp the stage. Still a pretty cool shot.

An old Greek theatre near the Roman one. I decided to test the acoustics seeing as absolutely no one was around. Apparently touring old ruins is not a common activity in Catania...
