We were also very grateful for the contributing efforts of friends and family to make this possible:
- Steph, Lenny's cousin, for a really nice big tent
- Kristina & Chris, friends that live nearby, for a wonderful sun shade (suuuuuuuuuper helpful to deal with the heat and bugs)
- Zac, Lenny's brother, for a sweet camp stove & cooler
- Lenny's work for dry ice that kept our cooler contents frozen the Entire weekend
Some of our memorable moments will include:
- Sally trying to follow me to the bathroom in the morning only to find out that she can't pass through a closed tent door. She definitely bounced back right onto Lenny's lap and apparently it was pretty funny.
- Not being able to see the horizon because of all the humidity across Lake Erie. The cooool water of Lake Erie will also not be forgotten.
- It being so hot that the sunscreen wouldn't soak into our skin and just bubbled and stayed on the surface.
- Struggling to keep a fire going as we both had very different ideas of how to build a fire. Realizing it was very silly not to bring any kindling to start a fire more easily... :)
- Getting lost on the way to take out some garbage only to find out about 30min later that we were only 5min from the garbage cans and had just walked around the entire park. At least we found a place that sold ice cream until 10pm on the same walk!!!!!!!
- Poor Sally and Lenny getting eaten by black flies. They weren't a problem for me, but they had a bit of troubles.

- Eating super well: hot dogs, lentil soup, sandwiches, Canadian bacon and eggs, peanut butter sandwiches, s'mores
- Getting Sally to fervently swim around in the lake and her discovering how awesome it was to just sit in about one inch of water at the water's edge.
- Relaxing in the cool sun shade (and the hammock) with the breeze blowing through my hair and enjoying a good book.
- Discovering that there was a dog beach about 2km down from where we were staying on the last night we were there. Something to remember for next time!
I didn't really take any pictures, but did take this video for memory's sake:
Thanks again to everyone who made the weekend possible. We had a wonderful, happy, and relaxing time.
